Ausfwerks Design 16-04 The Fenderbender Ted Herman We are proud to introduce the solution to precision metal bending. Whether you are a scratch builder that needs to form brass or aluminum parts from sheet stock or you use Photo-etched parts for kits, this tool is for you. The problem has always been with bending sheet stock in any length and accuracy. There are tools on the market today, but frankly, they fall short in one major area, the bending. Bending is the reason we buy these tools; not for clamping, not for bench decorations, not to tell our friends we have one, we own these tools to make more accurate and detailed models. While sitting at the bench one night, I decided that there had to be a better solution. Working, as I do in a custom fabrication shop, I decided to look around and see if there was any solutions to my problem. And there was. Through extensive design and 4 different prototypes, I came up with what you see here. What I did not want is to rush a product to market that, in 2 months would need to be upgraded. I wanted model builders out there to buy only one tool and use it for life. Then when the creative juices have me develop a new and useful tool, you would come back to Ausfwerks Design, because you knew that thoughtful and meaningful attention went into this tool. We are all in business to make money, I would rather rest at night knowing I earned that money. In the end, I am a model builder and need these tools, that’s why I make them. I know you will use them with success as well. The Fender Bender will bend straight brass stock in thickness up to 0.020” thick as well as PE. This is stock without etched bend lines. Sharp, consistent, precision bends from 0 degrees to 120 degrees. You can use this tool to bend flanges as small as .010 in length. This is accomplished by the use of Stainless Steel for the plate and finger brakes and the use of 3 individual hold down screws. You will be able to bend flanges up to 7” long. You read that correctly, 7” long with the flick of your wrists. Stainless steel assembly hardware will assure that you will get many years of service. Not only is this a functional and precise tool, it is also sleek and user friendly. No need to have 3 hands when trying to line up brake marks. No need to have a fixed location on your bench. April 28, 2006 The Fender Bender was demonstrated at AMPS in Hubbard, Ohio. It was received better than I could have imagined. There is nothing new about a finger brake; they have been around for as long as folks have been bending sheet metal. What I and others in this field do is develop these ideas into tools that are manageable for the model builder. Anyone that has ever taken sheet metal in High School will immediately recognize this tool and what it does. What this does is make it possible for you and I to bend the tiny metal parts we need for our models. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviews are available: Track-Link Armorama PMMS To view this product in use click on techniques below. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
